Production Apprenticeship - Level 3 - BBC Studios - Scripted Drama - Pobol Y Cwm - WELSH Language

Duties

As a Production Apprentice, this is a brilliant opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute – you could be:

• Gaining a good understanding of the upfront workings of pre‑production.
• Helping to organise schedules and meetings, working closely with our Executive and Series Producers in our editorial office.
• Gaining a great insight into what is required to take our scripts from story to production.
• Gaining experience in what it takes to run a busy office on a BBC drama.

You’ll be learning both on and off the job. This means that as well as learning on your placement at the BBC, you’ll also attend learning blocks (a week or two at a time) with our learning provider, working towards an industry recognised qualification, Level 3 Diploma in Digital and Creative Media. Learning blocks will be delivered in‑person.

Based in Roath Lock, Wales, you will be working on the long‑running Welsh language Soap, Pobol Y Cwm. Working in the Editorial Department, you’ll gain an understanding of all aspects of how the production works with a specific focus on Editorial.

• Be 18 years old or over by the time the Apprenticeship begins in September 2026.
• Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the Apprenticeship.
• Not currently be enrolled in another Apprenticeship programme, whether with the BBC or another organisation.
• No prior learning required to apply.
• For candidates under the age of 19 years on 8 September 2026:
  To complete the Apprenticeship, you must have achieved Essential Skills Wales Level 2 in Communication and Application of Number within the first 12 months of the Apprenticeship.
