Position: HUB OFFICER (HOUSING SOLUTIONS)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for committed individuals with excellent customer service skills to join our Housing Solutions team, based in Hubs across the city.

About the job

You will be required to conduct Interviews advising customers on available housing options and conduct tenancy sign up interviews.

The successful applicant will also assist with the co‑ordination of a wide range of council services and will be required to work collaboratively with various partner organisations to provide a holistic service.

What We Are Looking For From You
  • Expert knowledge on Housing including the new allocation policy and the options available to help those affected.
  • Expert knowledge on the Housing Benefit & the Council Tax Reduction scheme.
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service, working well in a team and having a flexible approach.
  • Exceptional communication and IT skills and the ability to resolve disputes in a positive and constructive manner.
  • The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, Somali, Arabic or Polish, would be an advantage.
Additional information

There are 2 Temporary full‑time posts.

Internal candidates who wish to apply for this position on a secondment basis must obtain approval prior to application using Form SEC1 (4.C.081). Requests may only be approved by the relevant Director/ Assistant Director/ Chief Officer or senior nominated officer graded no lower than OM2 or in the case of schools based staff the Headteacher / Governing Body. This vacancy is suitable for post share.

This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check.

Weekend and evening working will be required on a rota basis and location of work may vary. These posts are suitable for job share.
