Job Title: Systems Engineering Opportunities - Submarines
Working location: Cardiff
5 Days On-Site

As we continue to support the Royal Navy as the technical authority to the UK Ministry of Defence for naval reactor plants we are also growing our submarine and nuclear sector capabilities.
As part of this we are looking for a number of people with a strong background in Systems & Requirements Engineering.

What you will be doingAs a Systems Engineer within the team you will:
- Apply Systems Thinking:
Establishing context hierarchy and lifecycle of systems. Seeing and defining the whole system its purpose and functions. - Determine and manage requirements:
Elicit and analyse all stakeholder needs and convert into a validated complete set of commonly understood requirements. Structure and manage full system requirements information (including interfaces) and connect the levels of the system. - Project:
Manage your work to time, cost and quality requirements. Set key deliverables and create robust programme plans. - Collaboration:
Contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and understand related technical disciplines. Provide advice and support to Business and Integrated Project Teams. Have a strong collaborative approach with a desire and willingness to engage internally with various disciplines. Interpret and convey complex information to and from people at a variety of levels. - Responsibility:
Act as a point-of-contact playing an active role in a specific field within an engineering discipline influencing closely aligned teams and departments. Deal with ambiguity, think innovatively and work at pace within a highly dynamic environment. Have a strategic mindset: the ability to see the bigger picture and consider the business case and market strategy when developing products and services.

- Have a strong understanding of Systems Engineering Principles

- Be qualified in an engineering discipline

To work for the Rolls‑Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls‑Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or in MoD approved cases a dual national.
