Location:
South Wales
Employment Type:
Permanent
Sector:
Water / Utilities / Infrastructure
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering complex civil engineering and water infrastructure projects? This is an opportunity to take a leading role within a major AMP8 framework, driving the successful delivery of essential clean water and wastewater schemes across South Wales.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of multidisciplinary projects from early design through to construction and commissioning. Working within a collaborative framework environment, you’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget — while maintaining the highest technical and quality standards.
You’ll work closely with design teams, contractors, and client stakeholders, using your civil engineering background to guide technical decisions and keep delivery on track.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects within the AMP8 programme.
• Manage project scope, budget, programme, risk, and change control processes.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, with a strong focus on civil engineering design assurance.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, and commercial performance.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, H&S legislation, and quality management systems.
• Build strong relationships with client representatives, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive collaborative working practices across the framework.
• Prepare and present progress reports, forecasts, and project documentation.
• Support continuous improvement, innovation, and value engineering initiatives.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, high‑performance team culture.
About You
• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the water industry or similar regulated infrastructure environment.
• Strong civil engineering design background — ideally with experience in treatment works, pipelines, pumping stations, or major civils structures.
• Track record of delivering multi‑disciplinary projects through design and construction phases.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of NEC contracts (preferred).
• Degree‑qualified in Civil Engineering or related discipline; chartership desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across South Wales.
What’s on Offer
• Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
• Long‑term role within a major AMP8 framework with a strong pipeline of work.
• Opportunity to influence major water infrastructure improvements across the region.
• Supportive, collaborative environment with real career progression.
• Flexible and hybrid working options
