Senior Auditor

The Internal Audit Section is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated individual to join the team.

The team provides the Council with vital independent assurance on the effective, efficient, and economic use of resources, that good standards have been upheld and on matters of compliance and control. Services are delivered in accordance with the Global Internal Audit Standards in the UK Public Sector.

The successful candidate will lead on the design and delivery of a range of audits covering matters of good governance, risk management and internal control within time requirements. They will be capable of doing so with minimum supervision.

The job requires the post holder to be innovative, creative, and to assist Audit Management in promoting high quality service delivery and working practices.

All applicants will need an enquiring mind, good communication skills and an ability to produce work of a consistently high standard.

You must be a full or student member of a relevant professional body e.g. CCAB, AAT, IIA and have knowledge and experience of auditing practices and modern audit techniques. Experience of internal audit within the public sector would be an advantage.
