Job Description & How to Apply Below

Cardiff University is embarking on an ambitious journey to transform the way it delivers and leverages digital technologies across the institution. As part of this strategic evolution, we are creating a new function within the University that will help the department understand the demand for digital and IT services and support the allocation of resource to deliver the University’s priorities. We are seeking an IT Demand and Resource Officer to support the shaping of how we plan, prioritise, and deliver IT services that support our academic, research, and operational excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative environment where digital innovation is at the heart of institutional change. You will support colleagues across the department and beyond to align IT capacity with the University’s strategic goals—ensuring that our digital transformation initiatives, strategic developments, and business-as-usual activities are supported by the right people, with the right skills, at the right time.

In this role, you’ll work closely with stakeholders across academic departments, professional services, and central IT to support management of demand and optimise use of our resources. You will actively support Cardiff University to deliver value through technology—enhancing our students experience, enabling cutting-edge research, and operational efficiency.

In addition to the responsibilities, the successful candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of managing IT demand and resource planning in a higher education or similar environment.
