We are seeking a skilled and customer‑focused Mobile Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. In this hands‑on role, you will be the first point of contact for technical issues across hardware, software, and peripherals. You will ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Audio Visual/Video conferencing, end‑user computing, device management, print, and workstation services, while delivering exceptional customer service and collaborating with wider technical teams.
You will provide these services to a number of Sky UK site offices visiting on a scheduled basis.
- End‑user & AV Support:
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows devices, specialist/accessibility equipment, AV/VC systems, printers, network connectivity, Wi‑Fi, and desk peripherals (including routine meeting space and desk checks). - Infrastructure & Performance Monitoring:
Carry out daily checks of meeting rooms, VC systems, digital signage, network connectivity, and workstation performance to ensure service reliability. - Device Provisioning & Lifecycle Management:
Prepare, image, deploy, collect, and quality‑check devices for new starters, leavers, and loan equipment using standard build procedures. - Asset & Stockroom Management:
Maintain accurate records in Service Now, manage device movements, and conduct regular stockroom audits to ensure compliance and inventory accuracy. - Incident & Task Management:
Resolve Service Now tickets efficiently, prioritise high‑impact issues, provide timely updates, and support IMAC activities and desk moves. - Documentation & Continuous Improvement:
Create and maintain SOPs and support documentation, contributing to ongoing process and service improvements.
- Customer Focus & Communication – Understands and anticipates customer needs, communicates clearly and calmly, and explains technical issues to non‑technical users.
- Teamwork & Leadership – Works independently and collaboratively, values contributions of others, and supports and motivates colleagues.
- Problem Solving & Decision‑Making – Thinks laterally, analyses data, and makes sound judgments in ambiguous or high‑pressure situations.
- Creativity & Adaptability – Open to new approaches and uses initiative to adapt methods for evolving challenges.
- Results & Time Management – Prioritises tasks effectively, meets deadlines, and takes proactive action to address risks.
- Technical Expertise – Minimum 2+ years in desktop/IT support, strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, peripherals, and ITSM tools; desirable certifications include ITIL, Microsoft, Dell/HP.
- Documentation & Mobility – Creates clear SOPs and technical documentation, committed to continuous learning, holds a full UK driving licence, and is willing to travel to UK sites.
Desktop Services – Group Workplace Solutions Desktop Services is responsible for 2nd level support for end‑user computing, including deployment and return device management and desktop support activity.
