HCB Widdows Mason is seeking a highly qualified and strategic Head of Employment to lead our Employment Law practice. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to establish and develop a comprehensive Employment Law team, delivering expert legal support and guidance to clients on a wide range of employment issues.
Key Responsibilities- Creating a dedicated Employment Law team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence
- Providing expert advice on employment contracts, workplace policies, employee rights, and compliance with employment legislation
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and litigation for employment disputes
- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the visibility and reach of the Employment Law practice
- Conducting training for clients on employment law matters and best practices
- Staying abreast of changes in employment legislation and ensuring the practice remains compliant
- Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and potential referral sources
- Mentoring and developing junior staff while overseeing departmental performance and financial metrics
- Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in employment law
- Proven track record in leading and growing legal teams
- Strong business development and client relationship management skills
- Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities
- In-depth knowledge of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Ability to handle sensitive employment issues with discretion and empathy
- Commitment to professional development and mentoring of junior team members
