Totum Partners are delighted to be working with a leading law firm to recruit a Working Capital Manager, working across UK and international offices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the firm’s Working Capital Management, driving initiatives to reduce lock‑up.
  • Build strong partner relationships to ensure timely billing and debt collection.
  • Chair the Finance Committee and support Data Governance on compliance and risk.
  • Oversee billing cycles, e‑billing hub usage, and credit control processes.
  • Manage and develop the team, including Credit Control, Billing, and e‑Billing Managers.
  • Streamline billing workflows and refine processes to maximise system benefits.
  • Develop alternative billing approaches for non‑standard services.
  • Standardise rate structures across the firm.
  • Simplify and enhance reporting for lock‑up and wider financial management decisions.
  • Optimise credit control processes, reviewing systems and market solutions.
  • Support Finance training for new joiners across Partners, Fee Earners, and Business Services.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Working Capital Management, billing, and credit control within a professional services or law firm environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with Elite 3E (or similar finance and billing systems).
  • Proven track record of managing projects and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to work with partners and senior teams.
  • Team management experience, including mentoring and developing staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model, with 2 days per week in the office.
