Sous chef - Discovery

The Discovery is searching for a creative, enthusiastic Sous Chef to help elevate our food offering and support our passionate kitchen team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to develop your skills in the heart of Cardiff, we want to hear from you.

• Work hand-in-hand with the Head Chef to produce outstanding dishes across all meal services – breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special occasions
• Champion consistent kitchen standards for preparation, cleanliness, and food safety
• Train, motivate, and support junior chefs to ensure smooth service and a positive team culture
• Assist in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimising food waste
• Uphold high standards of allergen awareness and health & safety in the kitchen

• Experience as a Sous Chef or a skilled Chef de Partie within a busy kitchen environment
• Organised, reliable, and able to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and a collaborative approach to supporting others
• Ready to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
