Roleoverview
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.
ResponsibilitiesSupporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to ensure meeting or exceeding sales and KPI targets; setting clear sales goals, tracking performance, and evolving processes for continuous growth; creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training and continuous staff development; building a motivated and high-performing team; analysing sales data and financial reports to make quick and well-informed decisions;
acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence; providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints; helping manage day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures; supporting cash management tasks such as processing transactions and reconciling tills; participating in hiring, onboarding and training new employees; giving feedback and coaching to improve performance; supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules;
and ensuring operational costs remain within the allocated budget.
Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-pace retail/customer-facing environment; passion for retail and a good understanding of latest trends and competitors; experience coaching and developing individuals; strong communication skills; proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPIs; experience analysing KPI data to make commercial decisions; keen eye for detail and commerciality; previous experience in visual merchandising is advantageous;
ability to promote JD Group values to stakeholders.
