Cardiff is looking for a Social Work Assistant to join our supportive Adult Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transferable skills—from care, support work, customer-facing roles, community work, health, education, housing, or similar—who is passionate about helping others.
You do not need to be a qualified social worker to apply.

About the Role
As a Social Work Assistant, you will support older adults and individuals receiving mental health services by:

* Providing person-centred, strengths-based support

* Helping people identify their goals and what matters to them

* Assisting with wellbeing and basic risk assessments (full training provided)

* Supporting social workers with care and treatment planning

* Managing a small caseload appropriate to your experience

* Visiting people in their homes or community settings

* Encouraging independence, resilience, and recovery

* Working closely with families, carers, and professionals

* Keeping clear, accurate records of the work you carry out

* Participating in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training
You will be part of a friendly, supportive team that works together to improve the wellbeing of older adults and vulnerable individuals in Cardiff.
