ResponsibilitiesYou are an enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and experienced professional with an understanding of the criminal justice system as it affects children and young people aged 10‑17 who offend. Your role involves completing detailed assessments of children and young people open to the service, identifying risks related to offending behaviour, and contributing to planning effective interventions. You will work within a multi‑disciplinary service, promoting restorative justice values and seeking every opportunity to repair harm caused by offending behaviour.
The role includes supervising caseloads, developing intervention plans, attending court, and preparing high‑quality reports. You will collaborate with families and other agencies to address the needs of young offenders and adhere to Trauma Informed Practice principles.
- Recognised professional Social Work/Probation Qualification or related degree
- Understanding of criminal justice and child care legislation
- Experience working with disaffected youth
- Ability to undertake in‑depth assessments
- Strong report writing skills
- Effective multi‑agency collaboration
- Competent in I.T. packages
- Valid driving licence with access to an insured car
- Flexibility for evening and weekend work
