Lead Software Engineer

A start-up fast-growth software company has built a proof of concept, and they are driven to automate and use AI to manage risk for insurance companies. Their processes are powered by AI agentic workflows, enabling autonomous decision-making using CrewAI/Lang Graph. They use Coheres Re-Rank technology to ensure people get the most relevant answers quickly, rather than having to dig through noise and Pinecone to surface the most relevant information from large datasets.

In what is an exciting time for the business, they are ready to take the product onto the AWS marketplace and have been selected to be part of the Lloyds lab cohort. The CI/CD is in place, Dev Ops has been done, and there are plans for working in more insurance lines.

We're seeking a Lead Software Engineer to deliver advanced insure tech features using agentic workflows and contextual engineering. You'll work closely with AI engineers and product owners to scale the platform into production across global insurers.

The Lead Software Engineer needs to be well-read, passionate, and ideally have experience with LLMs and AI solutions.

• Frontend:
  React / Type Script
• Backend:
  Golang (primary), Python (supportive for AI integrations)
• Infrastructure: AWS (ECS, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation, Route
  53)

Responsibilities

• Lead development of front-end and backend features for the app
• Integrate GenAI pipelines into production-grade endpoints
• Collaborate with UX designers and AI teams
• Drive code quality, performance, and testing standards

Experience

• Extensive experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer
• Agnostic coding skills
• Genuine passion/experience with LLMs and agentic architectures (e.g. CrewAI)
• Experience in document processing OR similar
• Comfortable with AWS-based scalable architecture
• Ability to lead the future state

Remuneration Package

• Permanent contract
• Up to £90,000 per annum
