Join us, be part of more.

We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that’s energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion and more potential.

That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently – we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it.

About your team:

At Centrica Energy, our mission is to move it. We’re energy movers by nature. We’re a global renewable energy trading company which helps move energy from source to use – powering businesses, homes, and societies as they transition to a new sustainable energy future. If the idea of working to create a sustainable energy future also moves you, we may very well be the right place for you.

Centrica Energy is the trading arm of Centrica. Centrica Energy is a global energy trading and logistics arm. We trade power, gas, LNG, and energy attributes and connect producers, suppliers and offtakers in the wholesale energy markets – and we provide our clients with the best route‑to‑market services available to the market today with physical and financial settlement approaches.

We currently trade gas across 20 countries and power across 28 European countries and the United States, whilst our LNG business has a global reach with cargoes delivered almost anywhere in the world. To service our clients across the globe, we have main offices in London, UK and Aalborg & Copenhagen, Denmark, as well as branches in Belgium, Norway and Sweden and subsidiaries in Germany and Singapore.

What you’ll be doing :

As a Graduate Commodity Trading Analyst
, you’ll join a structured two‑year programme designed to help you grow quickly, build confidence, and make a real impact. You’ll complete three eight‑month placements
, working side by side with experienced specialists and learning how to tackle complex, real‑world business challenges from day one.

Each placement offers something different — new teams, new perspectives, and a fresh learning curve — giving you a broad and exciting view of how a leading commodity trading business operates.

You’ll gain exposure across a wide range of teams and functions, which may include trading and optimisation, gas, power, LNG, origination, finance, and risk
, among others. Along the way, you’ll help support important commercial decisions, contributing to commodity contracts and trading strategies that genuinely matter to the business.

We believe graduates learn best by doing. That’s why you’ll be encouraged to deliver real business outcomes from your very first placement. To support you, we provide a strong development framework, combining hands‑on learning with structured technical and behavioural training. You’ll also be paired with an experienced mentor from day one
, giving you guidance, support, and insight throughout the programme.

One of your rotations will be outside of the Front Office
, giving you a deeper understanding of the full trading lifecycle. We also actively encourage international placements
, including opportunities to work in our other major offices such as Denmark.

For our 2026 intake
, we’re offering start dates in May and September
.

What we’re looking for:

We’re excited to hear from graduates who enjoy using data and analysis to influence meaningful commercial decisions. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are working towards, or have recently achieved, a minimum 2:1 degree
, along with a Master’s in a highly numerical subject such as Applied Economics, Engineering (e.g. Chemical or Mechanical), Mathematics, Physics, or similar

  • Have a solid understanding of, and some hands‑on experience with,
