We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant Physician in Respiratory & General Medicine to join our friendly and enthusiastic team at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). Successful applicants must have full registration with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register to be eligible for appointment to this level of post. Less than full time hours would be considered for this post.

The post involves out‑patient and in‑patient duties and a regular commitment to both in‑reach into the medical admissions unit and on‑call for general medicine. A special interest in asthma, interstitial lung disease or pleural diseases is welcomed and supported, though any specialist interest would be welcomed and supported. The post will be based primarily at The Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, with a requirement to work at West Cumberland Hospital on a job‑planned basis.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver out-patient and in-patient care for respiratory and general medicine cases.
  • Provide in-reach into the medical admissions unit.
  • Serve on on-call rota for general medicine.
  • Develop and support specialist interests in asthma, interstitial lung disease, pleural disease and other areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Registered on the Specialist Register.
  • Experience in respiratory medicine and/or general medicine.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including less than full-time hours if suitable.
