Community Children's Speech and Language Therapist

Position overviewWe are seeking a motivated Speech and Language Therapist to work with children and young people across the North Cumbria area – specifically Solway or Eden. You will work within an integrated team providing a high quality service in community clinics, schools, and child development centres.
Main duties- Provide assessment, treatment, and outcome monitoring for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals and agencies to plan and review intervention.
- Promote health and reduce inequalities for children, young people and families.
- Manage a caseload in accordance with NHS Quality Standards and Care Aims approach.
- Deliver services in a range of settings including clinics, special schools and child development centres.
- Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy approved by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- On-going membership with the RCSLT.
- Evidence of formal training or specialist experience to postgraduate level.
- Experience organising, managing and prioritising a clinical caseload.
- Experience working as part of a team and with other professionals and agencies.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs and learning disabilities.
- Experience working in community clinics and educational settings, including schools and units for children with learning disabilities and communication disorders.
- Knowledge of a wide variety of speech, language and communication disorders.
- Demonstrate specialist knowledge with decision making underpinned by current evidence based practice.
- Knowledge of current clinical procedures and educational policies relating to practice as a therapist working in an educational setting.
- Working knowledge of assessment and therapy materials, including alternative communication strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the Trust and to work outside normal hours to meet business needs.

Salary range: £38,682 to £46,580 a year (Pro Rata, Per Annum)
