Role Overview

To support the sales effort for the commercial department, ensuring financial targets are achieved.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will play a critical role in generating new business across the club’s commercial products & services; hospitality sales, sponsorship, advertising and commercial partnerships.

You will identify leads, develop relationships and convert opportunities into sales. This role requires someone who is extremely motivated, hardworking and passionate about consultative selling and who has a proven track‑record of meeting and exceeding revenue targets.

You will be required to work on all home matchdays for the men’s first team, as well as to assist with other events as and when required throughout the season.

Responsibilities
  • Promote the club's commercial products & services across matchday hospitality, sponsorship, advertising and partnership programmes
  • Meet and exceed set customer outreach KPIs across all aspects of prospecting (calls / emails / client meetings)
  • Meet and exceed set sales targets, ensuring commercial department budgets are exceeded
  • Research and identify new sales opportunities and potential clients
  • Build and nurture relationships with new customers; handling queries and providing ongoing support
  • Responsible for negotiating deals and securing sales to meet revenue and occupancy targets
  • Manage and grow existing commercial accounts, ensuring renewals and long‑term relationships
  • Support partnership operations and account management, ensuring excellence in customer service
  • Support the Commercial Manager in working closely with the Marketing & Media department to develop aligned sales and marketing plans that deliver improved commercial performance and support partnership activations & evaluations
  • Stay up to date with competitor activity, market trends and product offerings
  • Manage commercial data and contact pipelines, ensuring accuracy of input into CRM systems
  • Support the Commercial Administrator with delivering improved processes that ensure operational effectiveness as well as excellence in customer service
  • Gather feedback from clients and guests to improve service delivery and product offerings
  • Contribute to reports on the department’s sales performance and overall commercial progress
  • Demonstrate a professional, ambassadorial approach to representing the club
Person Specification
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding new business sales targets and outreach KPIs
  • Confidence and initiative to drive leads, secure meetings and close deals through consultative selling
  • Creative approach to sales and persistent determination throughout the sales cycle
  • Demonstrated experience in customer relationship / account management
  • A team-player with a positive / can‑do attitude
  • Ability to work from own initiative and take the lead on deal negotiations
  • Proactive & flexible approach to work; comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and willing to work outside normal office hours for matchdays and other special events
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills with the ability to manage pipeline effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Competent with CRM tools and MS packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
