Consultant in ENT with special interest in Rhinology

We are delighted to advertise a Consultant in Otorhinolaryngology with a special interest in Rhinology to join a very dynamic and forward‑looking Otorhinolaryngology department. The successful candidate will lead the subspeciality for Rhinology delivering care for the population of Hywel Dda University Health Board and will influence service improvement through innovative technology and pathway reform whilst working as part of the Welsh Clinical Implementation Group for Ear, Nose and Throat and Audiology.

Candidates should be a member of the Royal College of Surgeons (or equivalent) and have their CCT or be eligible for inclusion on the specialist register. The role reports directly to the Clinical Director & Acute General Manager/Clinical Team Lead within the Speciality and ultimately to the Chief Executive.

Primary base:
Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen with outpatient clinics on peripheral sites.

• Provide direct clinical contact through outpatient clinics, ward rounds and theatre activity.
• Administer and validate patient care with opportunities for research and audit.
• Maintain clinical competence through registration and continuous professional development.
• Collaborate with senior management and contribute to service improvement and departmental governance.
• Teach and mentor junior staff.

• Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (or equivalent).
• Current CCT or eligible for inclusion on specialist register.
• Experience in Otorhinolaryngology with a subspecialty interest in Rhinology.

Hywel Dda University Health Board, serving Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and surrounding counties. Primary base at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen with outpatient clinics on peripheral sites.

• Four main hospitals:
  Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth;
  Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen;
  Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
• Five community hospitals:
  Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire;
  Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire.
• Two integrated care centres:
  Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings.
