Locum Consultant Haematologist - Carmarthen, Wales

Client: Hywel Dda University Health Board
Role: Locum Consultant in Haematology
Rates: £110 - £125 per hour (PAYE)
Shifts: 09:00am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday + 1.5 On Calls
Location: Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen, Wales

- Provide diagnosis, screening, treatment, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.
- Communicate clinical information to patients and families to ensure understanding.
- Coordinate treatment plans and prescribe treatments.
- Provide continuous monitoring and care for patients.
- Communicate with multidisciplinary team on shared decision‑making.
- Lead and work within multidisciplinary teams when appropriate.
- Assess, prioritise patient requirements and delegate effectively.
- Report changes in patient condition to team.
- Perform basic administrative tasks (record keeping, prescriptions, information provision).
- Conduct research to develop and test techniques and equipment.
- Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and multidisciplinary staff.
- GMC registered Doctor with license to practice (not required on Specialist Register).
- Relevant consultant‑level experience or references supporting transition to consultant level.
- Previous NHS experience preferred.
- Right to Work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
- Pass enhanced criminal background check (DBS).
