Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Clinical Education team as a Simulation Technician. You will play a vital role in supporting high‑quality immersive learning experiences for healthcare staff. This exciting role combines technical expertise with creativity, supporting the setup, operation, and maintenance of cutting‑edge simulation technologies—including high‑fidelity mannequins, audio‑visual systems, and virtual reality platforms.
As a key member of the simulation team, you will lead on technical operations during training scenarios, ensuring smooth, realistic, and engaging learning environments. You will also be responsible for equipment servicing, troubleshooting, and supporting programme administration such as feedback collection and data management.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong IT and AV skills who enjoys problem‑solving, teamwork, and hands‑on technical work. This role offers the chance to directly enhance clinical training and make a real impact on patient care.
Main duties- Plan, design and deliver training—operate high‑fidelity mannequins and manage simulation equipment (AV, VR, materials) to ensure smooth training delivery.
- Prepare and maintain learning spaces, provide technical support during sessions, and collaborate with educators.
- Manage digital tools (Forms, Lists, SharePoint) to support programmes.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and servicing; contribute to audits, evaluation and reporting of malfunctions.
- Uphold confidentiality, policies and health and safety standards while maintaining professional development in simulation practice.
- Work closely with educators and experts to deliver learning scenarios and support inter‑departmental collaboration.
- Oversee equipment storage and booking, liaising with providers for servicing and procurement of equipment and consumables.
- Support programme administration, data collection and logistics; provide faculty training on simulation technology.
- Liaise with digital services for multi‑site meetings and presentations.
- Travel between Health Board sites in a timely manner.

Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings. - 47 general practices, 97 community pharmacies, 43 general ophthalmic practices and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers.

Person Specification Essential- Educated to NVQ level 4, Diploma or equivalent experience of producing relevant work to a level 4 standard of assessment.
- A working knowledge and understanding of Office 365 applications.
- Familiarity with Information Technology equipment including audio/visual technology, or proven ability to apply prior knowledge to efficiently learn new systems and technology.
