Clinical Nurse Specialist - Acute Oncology

Overview

The Acute Oncology Nursing Service, based at Bronglais General Hospital, is a well‑established service within Hywel Dda University Health Board. We are recruiting a motivated and reliable Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team.

• Provide specialist oncology nursing advice, guidance, support and leadership to patients admitted with complications of anti‑cancer treatment, malignancy or new diagnosis during emergency admission.
• Work autonomously, managing own workload and providing specialist education and training to staff.
• Support the care of inpatients requiring specialist oncology advice during admission.
• Occasionally cover shifts to support the Health Board Cancer Treatment Triage Line; a seven‑day post including weekend shifts pro‑rata.

• Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist with proven clinical skill set.
• Ability to work under pressure, be organised, enthusiastic and a capable member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong IT and communication skills.
• Knowledge of oncology nursing best practice.
• Desirable:
  Ability to speak Welsh;
  English speakers welcome and Welsh language support is available.
• Demonstrated leadership, innovation, negotiation and teaching skills.
