Care Assistant – Loughside Care Village
At Healthcare Ireland we are proud to introduce Loughside Care Village, a luxurious, state‑of‑the‑art living environment for 116 residents in Carrickfergus. Designed to serve people with dementia, complex care needs and under mental health registration, the village‑style community is centred on dignity, independence and wellbeing, with a thoughtful design that encourages privacy, stimulation and meaningful social connection for residents, families and staff alike.
Loughside will be home to over 200 dedicated professionals delivering personalised care tailored to each individual.
You will provide high‑quality, person‑centred care, supporting daily living, offering emotional support and companionship, advocating for residents’ rights and preferences, and fostering a welcoming environment where staff feel valued and supported. As part of our frontline team, you will play a pivotal role in the day‑to‑day operations of the home.
Main Responsibilities- Assist residents with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, eating and mobility.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, helping residents maintain a good quality of life.
- Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
- Assist with moving and handling residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents’ well‑being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
- Follow care plans tailored to individual residents’ needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe and homely environment for residents.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A good standard of oral and written English.
- A non‑judgemental approach to others.
- Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high‑quality care.
- Respectful towards residents and the values and beliefs of other team members.
- Educated to QCF / NVQ Level 2 (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience in Health and Social Care (preferred, but full training will be provided).
