Shift: 40 hours per week. 6am - 2:30pmMy client is well established, industry leading Steelwork Fabricating company. Based in North Yorkshire, they have seen year on year success, with further growth plans for 2026. They offer a range of services from, design, manufacturing through to installation. This has given the company opportunities to service a multitude of sectors, with a diverse client base stretching across the UK.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Painter to join their team on a Temporary to Permanent basis.

Main Duties:

Apply paint and protective coatings to structural steel and related components to meet project specifications and quality standards.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine coating requirements and procedures.
Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, sandblasting, grinding, and applying chemical treatments to ensure proper coating adhesion.
Operate spray guns, brushes, rollers, and other application tools to efficiently apply coatings to various steel surfaces.
Mix, tint, and match paints and coatings to achieve accurate colour consistency and compatibility with existing finishes.
Monitor, clean, and maintain painting and sandblasting equipment, including performing routine maintenance and minor repairs.
Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations associated with coating operations.
Safely operate overhead cranes and material-handling equipment to move and position steel components for preparation and coating.

Role Requirements:

Experience as paint shop operative in structural steel
Excellent communication
Use of Overhead Cranes
Excellent eye for detail
Flexibility with regards to shifts and over-time
