Aramark UK are currently recruiting a Head Steward to join our team working at Bourlon Barracks, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3AD
.

You will be responsible for supervising the team in the provision of quality laundry, accommodation, mess‑room, and janitorial services, always adhering to health and safety.

A day in the life of a Head Steward
  • Full day‑to‑day operation supporting senior messes and organising team members to deliver an effective service.
  • Receiving and dealing with customer complaints and queries, ensuring compliments are shared with the team.
  • Training new team members on procedures and brand standards for all general tasks and ensuring on‑air and off‑job training is carried out for all front‑of‑house staff.
  • Supporting the effective delivery of special functions or events.
  • Ensuring cleaning standards and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Championing excellent customer service and implementing all customer communication tools provided by Marketing to build sales.
  • Working with the Unit Manager and Food Production team to ensure all restaurant staff are knowledgeable of the food menu, available beverages, and the promotional calendar, as well as their contents, recipes, accompaniments, and service.
  • Promoting forward planning and ensuring the ordering of stock for front‑of‑house use is carried out according to checklists and business levels.
  • Administration of schedules and maintenance of schedules and timesheets for all team members.
Qualifications and requirements
  • UK resident for the past 3 years with legal right to work in the UK.
  • Full security vetting and DBS checks required.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety and food safety requirements.
  • Experience working within the catering industry.
  • Prior experience managing direct reports.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is desirable.
  • Will be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the application process.
