Reporter, FOW at Derivia Intelligence

Derivia Intelligence is a leading provider of specialist data and insights to the global financial services industry. Through its brands Structured Retail Products (SRP), Global Capital (GC) and Futures & Options World (FOW), the group delivers mission‑critical products that enable clients to navigate complexity and drive performance across some of the most intricate areas of global finance.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Reporter to join our growing editorial team for Futures & Options World (FOW). As a Reporter, you will be responsible for writing daily online news and analysis on the futures and options market primarily in the Europe, Americas, Middle East and Africa regions including articles on exchanges, product launches, regulatory developments, trading platforms, and people moves.

You will also be comfortable using data to write about market activity and volume trends. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and analytical skills and a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments to deliver informative and engaging content to our subscribers.

The reporter will work independently to deliver the daily online content that our readers rely on to ensure they are kept abreast of what is happening in the markets but will also work with other editors within the group to co‑coordinate coverage. FOW prides itself on delivering exclusive content including news stories so the position would suit someone who is inquisitive and interested in delivering off‑diary insights.

The reporter will also be expected to produce exclusive analytical content based on interviews with key industry figures and data analysis. This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote and in‑office work.

  • Produce clear, concise, and accurate articles, highlighting key market‑moving information and potential implications.
  • Ensure editorial integrity by adhering to journalistic ethics and editorial guidelines, maintaining consistent, high‑quality content.
  • Collaborate with analysts globally to support in‑depth analysis and proprietary intelligence.
  • Develop a strong understanding of futures and options instruments to enhance reporting quality.
  • Stay updated on global industry trends and developments to provide relevant, timely content.
Key Interfaces
  • Work closely with the Director of Content to ensure content adheres to editorial standards and aligns with strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to gather insights and ensure the accuracy of daily coverage, while contributing to in‑depth analysis of market developments.
  • Maintain consistent communication with internal cross‑functional teams to ensure content remains relevant, accurate, and aligned with business goals.
  • Your decisions and suggestions should consider the impact on the other areas of the company, and you should be aware of the impacts (both positive and negative) that it may have on those departments.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • Minimum three years of experience in financial news reporting with an understanding of financial markets and instruments. Experience in covering futures and options a plus.
  • Familiarity with financial news sources, market data platforms, and content management systems.
  • Native‑level fluency in English, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional writing and data analysis skills with the ability to simplify complex information into concise, valuable insights.
  • Ability to identify and prioritise coverage to ensure alignment with audience needs and business objectives.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment, consistently delivering high‑quality content.
  • Experience in building lasting relationships with key market stakeholders.
  • Experience of SEO writing a plus.
