Consultant ENT surgeon interest in Thyroid & Parathyroid

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant in Head & Neck Surgery specialising in Parathyroid, Thyroid and Benign Head & Neck to join our dynamic ENT team. Our department provides a comprehensive, high‑quality ENT service to a population of over 750,000 and is recognised as a leading centre for Head & Neck Surgery.

• Deliver outpatient clinics at Queen's Hospital and peripheral sites, including the weekly Neck Lump Clinic.
• Perform Parathyroid and Thyroid, benign and diagnostic cancer Head & Neck procedures and routine ENT operations. Manage complications and provide post‑operative care.
• Actively participate in Parathyroid and Thyroid MDT meetings and provide specialist input to MDT discussions.
• Contribute to teaching, training and mentoring of junior doctors and trainees and support clinical governance and service development.
• Provide specialist input during the emergency ENT on‑call rota.

Essential

• GMC specialist register via relevant CCT/CESR or proposed date within next 6 months.
• Participation in audit and clinical governance.
• High level of clinical experience and competence in ENT.

Desirable

• Commitment to and experience of teaching.
• Experience of audit management.
• Demonstrate continued professional and personal development.
