Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist; Endoscopy Locum Consultant

An opportunity has arisen for one candidate to join a growing, dynamic and forward thinking Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Chelsea & Westminster Foundation Trust. The candidate will join a faculty of 21 consultants working across our 2 Hospitals;
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital.

The post would be based predominantly at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, with the potential to work across both sites according to the demands and vision of the department.

The appointed individuals are expected to uphold the Trust values to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care to patients with liver disease.

The appointee must be a member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent and would be expected to have completed higher specialist training or equivalent in Gastroenterology. It is highly desirable that the appointee holds a higher medical degree (i.e. MD or PhD).

Applicants must be on the Specialist Register (for Gastroenterology) or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK.

• Outpatient endoscopy activity
  • Deliver 6 general endoscopy lists per week (OGD/colonoscopy/flexible sigmoidoscopy) in a semi annualised format – likely in a 6‑week rolling block.
  • AM endoscopy lists are booked at 12 points and PM endoscopy lists are booked at 10 points.
  • A further 1.5 DCC will be provided to allow the post holder to do patient‑related admin related to the endoscopy lists.
  • 0.5 DCC allocation for attending MDT meetings.
  • 2 SPA sessions will be provided (1.5 core SPA, 0.5 SPA clinical audit) to make this a 10PA role.
