Consultant in Neurology – LNWH

We are recruiting a Consultant in Neurology on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis for the London North West Hospitals (LNWH) Trust. The Department of Neurology currently has a diverse team across three sites, with opportunities to lead and develop services in a high demand area.

As you will play a vital role in both inpatient and outpatient services, driving forward the development of Neurology services within the local area, including development of Nurse Specialist positions and collaboration with the Primary Care Trust. All consultant staff are allocated secretarial support, an office space and IT facilities.

• Conduct general outpatient clinics and perform liaison work on the wards.
• Contribute to advice, guidance and triage of referrals from the primary sector.
• Supervise clinical fellows and nurse specialist.
• Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in collaboration with other physicians.
• Collaborate with other consultant neurologists to ensure a comprehensive outpatient and ward referral service.
• Lead departmental work with the Clinical Audit and Effectiveness department to ensure relevant clinical audit is carried out.
• Support development of Neurology services, including Nurse Specialist positions and partnership with the Primary Care Trust.

• GMC registration.
• Consultant level experience in Neurology.

• 10 PA's per week (can be increased if necessary).
• Excellent leadership within the team.

• Outstanding private and public schools and outstanding nearby schools.
