The Role
We’re looking for a talented Electronics and Embedded Engineer to join our R&D team in London. You will design, develop and test next‑generation spatial audio hardware systems, collaborating closely with software engineers, sound designers and product specialists to bring innovative products from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test embedded hardware and firmware for audio processing and control systems.
- Capture schematics, design PCBs and assemble prototypes.
- Develop and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for real‑time DSP, network and control applications.
- Integrate embedded systems with software and hardware platforms in cross‑functional teams.
- Support the full product life cycle from concept and prototyping through to production and field deployment.
- Conduct hardware bring‑up, debugging and performance optimisation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners to ensure design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) and design‑for‑test (DFT) requirements are met.
- Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to audio, embedded systems and networking.
Skills And Experience Required
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in embedded systems design using C/C++.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium, KiCad).
- Familiarity with ARM Cortex‑M or similar microcontroller architectures.
- Embedded Linux experience.
- Understanding of digital and analog audio circuit design.
- Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, Ethernet and USB.
- Proficient in debugging hardware and firmware using oscilloscopes, logic analysers and other lab tools.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small, multidisciplinary team.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with real‑time audio DSP or audio networking (Dante, AVB, AES
67). - Knowledge of FPGA design (Verilog/VHDL).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for production.
- 68000 Assembly language experience.
- Passion for audio, music technology or live sound applications.
