Site Engineer – Highways

Salary: £30 - 40k + pkg

Location: Enfield

Regions: London, Middlesex, South East

Civil Engineering Main contractor with a turnover of £400m are seeking a Site Engineer to work within their Highways division. The first project will be to work on a £50m New build Highway and structures.

The ideal candidate will be

• Degree or HNC/HND Qualified in Civil Engineering
• Experience with in a Civil engineering environment
• 2 years’ experience working for a main or regional contractor
• Highways experience would be beneficial but not essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control
• Carry out relevant inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan
• The production of survey information to enable the completion of As-built records
• Ensuring activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the project Safety Plan
• Maintenance of Quality Management System records
• Ensure level book is accurately maintained noting against each record the date, location and serial number of equipment used
• Ensure construction operations conform with Contract requirements using agreed procedures and competent personnel as applicable and ensuring that the required level of quality is maintained throughout the construction process
• Co-ordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of their assigned Scope of work
• Ensure all site personnel have the relevant information to carry out their duties
• Ensure there is minimal environmental disturbance during construction works and that the project environmental requirements are met
• Ensure only the latest issues of drawings are being used

Candidate Spec:

• HNC / Degree in Civil engineering
• Experience working on civil projects
• CSCS card
