Job Summary

As part of the global TÜV Rheinland group, you will develop both technical expertise in your discipline and essential consulting skills. Job Description Technical Contribution

Perform basic mechanical engineering and technical safety tasks to generate initial project deliverables cost‑effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. All deliverables will be reviewed and approved by senior engineers and consultants. Exercise judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods. Prepare project documentation within your scope of deliverables.

Contract Management

Identify variation requests to support contract claims issuing.

Planning and Control

Follow work plans and cost estimates in your area of responsibility. Ensure quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost.

Risk and Opportunity Management

Support risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions in your area of responsibility. Document and handle technical risks according to mitigation guidelines.

Customer

Clarify technical queries for customers. Interact with other staff and contractors within your scope of deliverables.

Processes and Tools

Use standard processes, software and tools applicable to your area of responsibility. Report process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggestions for improvement.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 2:1 Masters degree level qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Clean UK Driving License.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and self‑motivated.
  • Clear communication skills with ability to deliver bad news.
  • Willingness to travel and able to travel out of area on occasions.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the UK at the time of application and for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
Desirable
  • Engineering experience working in High Hazard Oil, Gas & Chemicals Industry.
  • Associate member of relevant institution e.g. Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
