Principal Sustainability Consultant
South West - Cardiff
We are delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded engineering consultancy known for delivering intelligent, sustainable, and people‑centred solutions across the built environment. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious and forward‑thinking Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their established Sustainability team in Cardiff.

- Lead sustainability work streams and act as Discipline Project Lead.
- Develop and manage project resource plans.
- Prepare and deliver sustainability statements and reports for planning submissions.
- Facilitate and lead client and multidisciplinary design team workshops with confidence.
- Delegate, manage, and review work produced by junior team members.
- Undertake or oversee:
- Part L, Part O, overheating and energy modelling
- Environmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM)
- Whole life carbon assessments
- Net zero carbon strategies
- Operational energy analysis
- Contribute to Technical Excellence communities and support internal knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and train junior colleagues across technical delivery, consultancy skills, and project management.
- Advanced experience in building performance modelling, including Part L, Part O, and thermal comfort assessments.
- Proven ability to lead sustainability work streams and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and training junior staff.
- Strong track record delivering environmental and wellbeing assessments.
- Whole life carbon assessment experience (One Click LCA desirable).
- Experience supporting successful planning applications; knowledge of the Cardiff and London markets would be advantageous.
