Overview
You are an experienced Technical Surveyor with a strong background in the technical environment, capable of assisting in delivering high-impact construction/engineering projects. You have a solid technical track record of delivering compliant and defect‑free projects, and are familiar with contract programming, resource management, and delivering a program that achieves high levels of customer satisfaction. Excellent decision‑making under time constraints and a collaborative team spirit are key aspects of your work approach.
As a Technical Surveyor at Westminster City Council, you'll report to the Commissioning Manager and play a crucial role in design and technical appraisals for pre‑construction activities. You'll work collaboratively with Asset Strategy and Service Providers to ensure tasks align with investment requirements, providing value for money for the HRA and Leaseholders. Key responsibilities include scrutinising client briefs, developing tasks, responding to technical queries, and contributing to design standards.
You'll also engage with stakeholders, provide expert advice, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards, focusing on innovation, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Knowledge of construction contract administration
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer litera—Word, Outlook, Excel, MS Project
- Strong decision‑making abilities
- Understanding of design coordination and contract management
- Practical construction knowledge
- Experience in partnering environments with TPC contracts
- Degree in surveying, construction, or engineering
- Membership of a relevant technical institution
