Salary: £80-90,000 + bonus + pension + other benefits
Working pattern: 1-2 days wfh (non contractual)
Equifind is partnering with a UK-based financial services group that specialises in trading securities, including bonds, derivatives, and equities, to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant. The position is based at their office near Bank in the City of London.
The business is highly dynamic and consistently profitable, operating in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role is a key part of the finance team, leading on technical accounting, tax support, and audit management, while overseeing several areas of financial control and reporting.
- Research and prepare technical accounting memos to support accounting treatments for new and existing areas, as required by auditors or third parties.
- Prepare monthly tax accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations, including review of analysis and disallowable expenses.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of annual tax computations.
- Prepare tax information relating to investments.
- Support the finalisation and review of the month‑end reporting pack, particularly technical aspects such as consolidation adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting controls.
- Manage an efficient audit process and assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Drive process improvement across existing and new finance areas as the team and company continue to expand.
- Support the wider business with ad hoc projects aligned with the company’s growth strategy.
Application criteria:
- Qualified accountant (ACA or CA preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience in industry, with exposure to tax, financial accounting, and reporting.
- Experience with in a trading or commodities environment is beneficial but not essential.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Previous experience mentoring or coaching junior team members.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to competing demands and shifting priorities.
