Premises Officer

Are you practical, reliable, and committed to keeping environments safe and welcoming? We're looking for a Premises Officer to join our team and help maintain our school site to the highest standards.

As a Premises Officer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our school is secure, clean, and well‑maintained. From managing site security and overseeing contractors to carrying out minor repairs and setting up for school events, you'll be at the heart of keeping our facilities running smoothly.

• Act as a key-holder and manage site security, including alarms and access.
• Carry out routine inspections and minor repairs, reporting compliance issues promptly.
• Support the Senior Caretaker with building systems, lighting, heating, and utilities.
• Liaise with contractors and supervise works on‑site.
• Set up rooms and equipment for school events and exams.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety across the site, including snow clearance and litter picking.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and risk assessments completed.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call‑out rota and assist during emergencies. (This will include being on the call out Roster so will include weekend cover where required)

• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or relevant experience.
• Practical skills for maintenance and repairs, with a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach.
