Job Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the council’s asset management function

Lead and oversee asset management strategies in line with corporate objectives

Manage and deliver complex asset-related programmes and projects

Ensure effective governance, risk management, and compliance across the asset portfolio

Work closely with senior stakeholders, elected members, and external partners

Support decision-making through clear reporting and performance monitoring

Drive continuous improvement and value for money across council assets

Person Specification

Must-Have Requirements

Proven senior-level experience in asset management

Strong strategic leadership and decision-making skills

Demonstrated project management expertise

Experience working within a local authority or public sector environment

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Eligibility to work in the UK

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Experience operating at Director or equivalent level

Knowledge of local authority governance and policy frameworks

Experience leading organisational change or transformation programmes
