Grinding Operative (PTS Rail Grinding Operative)

McGinley are seeking PTS Rail Grinding Operatives to join our workforce for ongoing rail works across Kent and London
, with immediate starts available
. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long‑term work within a professional and safety‑focused team. Shifts will be available during weekdays and weekends.

As a Rail Grinding Operative
, you will play a key role in the safe upkeep of the rail network by operating and assisting with grinding equipment to restore rail profiles and remove defects. Duties will include:

• Carrying out rail grinding tasks to improve track condition and extend rail life.
• Working as part of a safety‑critical team on live rail infrastructure.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
• Following instructions from supervisors and adhering to Network Rail safety procedures.
• Preparing, operating, and maintaining grinding machinery and associated tools.
• Supporting the wider team with general track maintenance as required.

• TR80 ticket
• PTS (Personal Track Safety)
• Previous experience in rail grinding operations is preferred
• A strong commitment to health & safety and teamwork
