We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assessing Social Worker to join a Fostering Recruitment and Assessment Team within a North London local authority environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about fostering and committed to supporting children and families through high-quality assessment and recruitment processes.

Key Responsibilities

* Recruit and assess individuals and families interested in becoming foster carers or Supported Lodging Hosts

* Deliver pre-approval training, including Skills to Foster

* Complete Form F assessments, Host Assessments and specialist fostering assessments

* Participate in the team and service duty rota several days per month

* Contribute to team initiatives, including support groups and training for carers

* Attend outreach and marketing events to promote fostering services

About You

* Qualified Social Worker with post-qualification experience, ideally within fostering or assessment services

* Experienced in completing fostering assessments with strong analytical and report-writing skills

* Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including:

* Children Act 1989

* Fostering Services Regulations 2011

* Confident in managing complex situations, negotiation, conflict and vulnerability

* A proactive, reflective practitioner who values teamwork and service development

Essential Requirements

* Degree or Diploma in Social Work (or equivalent recognised qualification)

* Registration with Social Work England

* Enhanced DBS clearance

* Right to work in the UK
