Hiring Expert Backend Engineer – Remote (Mission‑Critical Systems)

You’ll be part of a small, highly capable engineering team working in an async‑first, remote environment. We value independence, but we also come together daily to keep projects moving and ideas flowing.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for our dispatch systems.
• Build APIs and event‑driven workflows that connect systems and services reliably.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability under mission‑critical traffic.
• Manage data pipelines, storage strategies, and migrations with a focus on consistency.
• Craft solutions thoughtfully, avoiding bloated frameworks in favor of lean, efficient approaches.

• Work closely with product managers, backend team, and leadership to understand and solve real‑world problems.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps with clarity and rationale.
• Document your work so others can build upon it effectively.

• Strong expertise in Node.js.
• Familiarity with Type Script.
• Proficiency with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Familiarity with event‑driven systems, distributed architectures, and modern API design.
• Solid understanding of Docker and cloud‑native principles for deploying distributed services.
• Experience building, deploying, and monitoring production systems at scale.
• Ability to understand client and stakeholder needs to design APIs that are intuitive, reliable, and provide excellent developer experience (DX).

• Exposure to Python, Go, or other backend languages.
• Experience with WebRTC, VoIP, or real‑time communications.
• Background in high‑availability, low‑latency systems.
• Familiarity with AI‑based observability or incident response tools.
