  • Troubleshoot and resolve data‑related issues independently when possible, escalating complex problems appropriately.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing by documenting processes and solutions and guidance from the team.

As a Data Engineer I, you should have solid knowledge of data lake fundamentals around storage, compute, etc., and be familiar with data processing frameworks like Spark and core data concepts (e.g., Data Modeling). You should have a good understanding of cloud‑based data solutions using AWS stack or other cloud platforms. You are expected to be able to build ETL and reporting solutions with guidance from more senior team members.

You should be eager to learn new technologies and be able to implement solutions using them under supervision to enhance existing functionality or contribute to platform scaling efforts. You should be able to work well in a fast‑paced environment, comfortable working with large data volumes, adaptive to evolving business requirements, and passionate about data and analytics.

Qualifications
  • Solid knowledge of data lake fundamentals around storage, compute, etc., and familiarity with data processing frameworks like Spark and core data concepts (e.g., Data Modeling).
  • Good understanding of cloud‑based data solutions using AWS stack or other cloud platforms.
  • Ability to build ETL and reporting solutions with guidance from more senior team members.
  • Eager to learn new technologies and to implement solutions using them under supervision.
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment, comfortable working with large data volumes, adaptive to evolving business requirements, and passionate about data and analytics.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Korn Shell).
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines.
  • Experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
  • Experience with any ETL tool like Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.
  • Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development life cycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
