Position: Electrical Engineer (Building & Renewable Sectors)

Overview

A reputable engineering company is looking for an , who can develop as part of a multi-disciplinary project team, focusing in on LV, MV, HV Building Engineering and Renewable Energy Generation in Gauteng!

Requirements:

BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 3 years’ experience

Registered with ECSA

Experience in the building services sector

Sound electrical engineering knowledge and experience in LV, MV and HV (up to 275kV)

Conversant with Digisilent, ETAP and electrical power systems modelling and analysis software

Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation of electrical engineering scope of work, including equipment and construction costs

Perform and check system studies (. short circuit; load flow and protection coordination)

Develop and check equipment purchase specification and develop RFQ’s

Develop tender documentation, adjudicate tenders, provide re-measurement of works and approve contract claims

Knowledge of:

Load Lists

Single Line Diagrams

Network Diagrams

Electrical Schematic Diagrams

Hazardous Area Classification

Diversification and Load factors

Electrical Network Design

Fault Level Calculations

Motor start-up and Protection Schemes (MV and LV)

Power Metering specification and interface to Energy / Building Management Systems
