Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer

Our client, a forward-thinking engineering firm specializing in advanced industrial automation, is searching for an exceptional Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer to head their operations in Centurion, Gauteng . This leadership position involves guiding a team of talented engineers in the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems for various industrial applications. You will be responsible for setting technical direction, ensuring design integrity, and fostering innovation within the team.

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers in the design and development of innovative mechanical systems.
• Define and implement technical strategies and roadmaps for mechanical engineering projects.
• Oversee the entire design process, from concept generation and detailed design to prototyping and production support.
• Conduct advanced engineering analysis, including CFD and FEA, to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including controls, electrical, and software engineering, to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively for mechanical system development.
• Present technical designs and project progress to stakeholders and senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Champion best practices in mechanical engineering and foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Expertise in mechanical system design, analysis, and simulation tools (CAD, CAE, FEA, CFD).
• Deep understanding of various manufacturing processes and material selection.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, robotics, and control systems integration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate engineering teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in project management, including planning, execution, and budget control.
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards and best practices.
