Youth Support Worker

Our client, What Jobs Direct, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Support Worker to join their team in Centurion, Gauteng . You will be working directly with youth in a structured environment, facilitating personal development, educational engagement, and social skill-building.

• Provide one-on-one and group support to young people.
• Develop and implement engaging activities, programs, and workshops tailored to youth interests and needs.
• Assist youth in setting and achieving personal, educational, and vocational goals.
• Offer guidance and support in resolving conflicts and managing challenging behaviors.
• Facilitate positive social interactions and promote teamwork among peers.
• Monitor youth progress and maintain accurate, confidential records.
• Collaborate with parents, guardians, educators, and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive environment within the facility.
• Identify and respond to the emotional and developmental needs of young people.
• Act as a positive role model and mentor.

• Relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
• Previous experience working with adolescents or young adults in a support capacity.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and common challenges faced by youth.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively and de-escalate conflict.
• Experience in program planning and facilitation is a plus.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and relevant clearances.
• Commitment to working on-site in Centurion.
• Knowledge of local youth services and resources is advantageous.
