Experienced Social Worker – Children in Care

Salary: £41,957 – £45,859
Market Premia: £5,500 per annum (paid in 12 equal monthly instalments)
Retention Payment: £3,000 per annum (paid each April after 1 year in post)

About the Role

3D Recruit is working in partnership with a local authority children’s service to recruit an Experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care team. This is a key statutory role for a confident practitioner with strong court experience, working with children who are subject to care plans and legal proceedings.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring children in care receive high-quality planning, stability, and permanence. This is a busy and fast-paced role requiring excellent professional judgement, strong court skills, and a commitment to relationship-based practice.

Key Responsibilities

* Hold a complex caseload of Children in Care, including cases with ongoing legal proceedings

* Complete high-quality assessments, care plans, and permanency planning

* Prepare clear, analytical, and evidence-based reports for court and review forums

* Attend court and represent the local authority professionally

* Build meaningful and effective relationships with children, families, and carers

* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners and internal services

* Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory requirements

Essential Requirements

* Degree or Masters in Social Work

* Social Work England registration

* Significant post-qualification experience within Children in Care teams

* Proven court work experience

* Strong knowledge of children’s legislation, care planning, and court processes

* Essential Car User status – must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to own vehicle

* Right to work in the UK
