AboutThe Role
You will ensure clients’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner, and identify added‑value opportunities.
- Assisting in the preparation of more complex statutory accounts and review of disclosures under a range of accounting frameworks, including FRS
102 and IFRS - Assist with the review of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Assisting with the preparation, review and submission of VAT and employer taxes (i.e., P11D and PSA)
- Assisting in the preparation or review of monthly/quarterly management reports for a range of clients
- Preparation of integrated cash flow forecasts
- Review of bookkeeping duties using a variety of accounting software e.g. Xero, Sage
- Preparation or review of corporation tax returns and ad‑hoc advice as supported by our tax team
- Client relationship building and assistance with the maintenance of client portfolios
- Understanding client internal controls and suggesting improvements where weaknesses are identified
- Performing on‑site assignments/secondments at client’s premises
- Ensuring completion of assigned areas of work within the time budget and deadlines with minimum supervision by the manager
- Seeking to continuously improve systems and procedures
- Providing assistance, coaching and mentoring to junior staff as and when required
- Prioritising your own work and deadlines
- Keeping up to date with technical knowledge and changes in the accountancy profession, driving best practice in the team and ensuring the team continues to develop
- Monitoring and adhering to deadlines, ensuring client work is completed in line with client expectations
- Liaising with other departments in the firm and having awareness of services on offer
- ACCA/ACA Qualified
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an accountancy practice firm
- Basic knowledge of accounting packages and statutory accounts preparation software (ideally Xero and caseware experience)
- Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS 102
- Strong time‑management and delegative skills
