Job Title:
Quantity Surveyor/ Senior QS
Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor/ Senior QS is responsible for providing expert quantity surveying services to clients, including cost estimating, tendering, and contract administration. This position requires a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, as well as experience in high quality projects, there will also be the requirement for some Project management within the role.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including the cost of materials, labor, and equipment
* Review and analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify potential cost risks
* Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids
* Negotiate and award contracts with subcontractors
* Administer contracts, including monitoring project costs, issuing payment certificates, and resolving disputes
* Provide expert advice to clients on all aspects of quantity surveying
* Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
Qualifications:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
* Preferably be on the RICS pathway or hold MRICS.
* 4+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably with some experience working for a consultancy/PQS but we are open to contractor backgrounds.
* Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
* Experience in managing tendering and contract administration processes.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
