Job Description Summary
As the Distribution & Controls Business Leader you will develop and execute long-term strategies that align with GE Aerospace’s vision for advancing electric power distribution and controls technologies, including high-voltage distribution networks and interface and control system.
Set clear priorities and objectives for the Cheltenham-based business, ensuring alignment across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions to support, for example, More Electric Aircraft (MEA) and hybrid-electric propulsion initiatives.
Continuously assess market dynamics, customer requirements, and industry trends to determine what game we play and how we win at a business level.
Drive strategic execution, enacting win themes through market focused collaboration, opportunities for innovation, growth, and risk mitigation.
Champion operational excellence by implementing lean principles, optimizing processes, and leveraging data-driven decision-making to improve efficiency and reliability.
Represent GE Aerospace as a thought leader in electric power systems and controls at industry forums, conferences, and strategic discussions, influencing the future of aerospace electrification.
Job DescriptionBusiness Leadership
- Instill a customer-first mindset across the organization, emphasizing responsiveness, reliability, and exceeding expectations in delivering electric power distribution and control solutions.
- Lead a cross-functional site senior leadership team focused on executing business priorities, including engineering, operations, and supply chain for electric power systems.
- Directly manage teams responsible for operational delivery, for example, program management and business operations.
- Own the business unit’s P&L, ensuring financial targets are consistently met or exceeded through effective cost management and operational efficiency.
- Drive revenue growth by expanding market share in electric power distribution and controls, leveraging strategic initiatives and customer acquisition.
- Lead margin improvement efforts by optimizing cost structures, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring flawless program execution.
- Manage working capital effectively, including inventory turns, receivables, and payables, to improve cash flow and financial health.
- Ensure flawless program execution by driving on-time delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints, particularly for high-complexity electric power systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to proactively address risks and resolve challenges in electric power system development and production.
- Champion the implementation and execution of the FLIGHT DECK operating system across all functions to drive lean principles and continuous improvement.
Program / Product Management
- Oversee a market driven product lifecycle of electric power distribution and control products, including market analysis, requirements definition, product development, launch, and end-of-life management.
- Drive innovation in power control systems, including advancements in intelligent load management, fault-tolerant architectures, and high-efficiency converters to maintain competitive advantage.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and commercial teams to ensure product offerings meet customer needs, such as improved power density, reliability, and compliance with aerospace standards.
- Serve as the primary executive interface for key customers, including OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and government agencies, building trust-based relationships and ensuring alignment on technical and business objectives.
- Support complex contract negotiations, ensuring agreements drive long-term partnerships and align with customer requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution of electric power system programs.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on business performance, strategic initiatives, and operational progress specific to electric power distribution and controls.
