Flood Risk Engineer

Responsibilities- Preparing Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments
- Producing drainage strategies and surface water management plans in line with current guidance and standards
- Undertaking hydraulic and hydrological assessments using industry-standard software
- Liaising with local authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, the Environment Agency and other stakeholders
- Supporting planning applications through technical input and responses to consultee comments
- Working collaboratively with planners, engineers and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
- Experience in flood risk and drainage within a consultancy or local authority environment
- A strong understanding of UK flood risk policy, planning guidance and SuDS principles
- Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly in written reports
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience
- Progress towards, or interest in working towards, professional accreditation (desirable)
