Hays Senior Finance is partnering with Cobalt Medical, seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead our Finance Team and ensure the smooth running of our financial operations. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to make a real impact in a respected charity that delivers vital services to the community.
About the Role
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the production of monthly management accounts and year-end statutory accounts.
- Leading the development of accounting systems, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Supporting operational teams with integrated business solutions.
- Ensuring regulatory returns are completed accurately and on time.
- Managing and developing the Finance Team, fostering a culture of high standards and continuous improvement.
- Deputising for the Finance Director when required, including attending SMT and Board meetings.
- Line management of the Finance Team, including performance reviews and wellbeing support.
- Maintenance of accurate accounting records and systems.
- Preparation of audit files and SORP-compliant statutory accounts.
- Oversight of financial controls, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.
- Support for budgeting, pricing reviews, and financial modelling.
- Liaison with auditors, insurers, bankers, and other key stakeholders.
- Attendance at Finance Committee meetings, including report preparation and minute-taking.
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with proven experience in financial leadership.
- Strong understanding of charity finance, including SORP and Gift Aid.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage across all levels.
- Experience in managing and developing teams.
- Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
